About Nivedita Joshi

Nivedita Joshi is an Associate at the Climate Adaptation Learning Lab (CALL) at Transitions Research. Her research explores the linkages between climate change and livelihoods, particularly in the Global South. She examines what makes communities vulnerable to climate change, as well as the barriers and enablers that shape people’s ability to adapt to climate change. Her fieldwork spans dynamic climate change hotspots across Africa and South Asia, with a focus on semi-arid regions.Recently, Nivedita’s work has concentrated on the academic, empirical, and policy discourse around Loss and Damage in India. She uses qualitative, participatory, and perception-based adaptation methodologies in her research. Nivedita holds a Master’s degree in Climate Change and Development from the University of Cape Town and a Bachelor’s (Honours) degree in Economics from Adelphi University.
