Vikrom Mathur
Vikrom is Founding Director of Transitions Research. He conducts multidisciplinary research and policy analysis at the interface of technology, society and sustainability. His research explores the role of human choice and societal decision making in face of normative and scientific uncertainty. Vikrom setup India’s first urban living lab to test socio-technical innovation in the real-life laboratory of cities and neighborhoods. His ongoing research examines the social dimension of climate change in India - how do we deeply and rapidly alter politics, norms, attitudes, behaviour and incentives to act? He also researches norms and institutions that can help manage environmental opportunities and challenges associated with emerging technologies. He received his Doctor of Philosophy degree from Oxford University, Institute for Science, Society and Innovation. Vikrom is Senior Fellow of the Observer Research Foundation, India, Senior Fellow of Centre for Social and Behavioral Change and Associate Fellow of the Stockholm Environment Institute.
