Hafsa Bukhary
Hafsa has dedicated over 8 years to transforming educational landscapes in India. She began her journey teaching 60 eighth-grade girls at a low-income government school in Delhi. Following this, she developed teacher training programs for Teach for India and conducted "bright spots" research to identify best practices within the education ecosystem. Hafsa then worked with Girl Rising, introducing gender-inclusive practices in villages across Bihar, Jharkhand, and Rajasthan. In 2022, she joined Ashoka University to author History and Political Science textbooks for 11th and 12th grades for the Delhi Board of School Education. Over the years, she has trained teachers and developed curricula, all with the goal of creating a more equitable society.
Hafsa is deeply passionate about designing impactful learning experiences that build essential skills and shift mindsets. She now leads the Monsoon Academy initiative, creating fellowships to foster leadership in India’s climate space. Alongside her work in education, Hafsa is a storyteller and poet; she has performed at over six festivals across two countries, published an anthology of poems, and been featured on BBC Radio.
